Russ Anderson
Live at the RiverPark Center
Release date: August, 2008 |
* When Peggy and I first watched Russ Anderson's "Live at the
RiverPark Center" DVD, we both looked at each other with our mouths open
and tears welling up in our eyes from the touching and inspiring message
in this brief sampler of his Christian songs. We go to a huge church in
St. Louis and my fiancé said, "You have GOT to get this DVD to our music
director and see if they won't invite him as a guest soloist some
Sunday!" I agreed.

Coming On The Wind
Release date: October
9, 2006 |
*
My family and I really enjoyed your concert
yesterday at Eckert’s Farm. Between your music, the beautiful weather, and
the pleasant atmosphere, it turned out to be a day we will remember for
years to come. My wife and I have listened to your CD “Coming on the Wind” a
couple of times now and, in a word, it is ‘excellent’. All the songs you
have written are really good and I particularly like “One” and “Don’t Cry
For Me” (my 2 & 7 year old daughters like “Jesus Loves Me”
:-)). Anyway, I just wanted to encourage you to
keep up the good work and to thank you for helping to spread the truth of
God’s Word and Jesus Christ. I look forward to purchasing some more of your
CD’s as finances permit. Hope to be able to see you play again, I’ll check
your website.
Thank you
& God bless you and your family.

* About "Don't Cry For Me" (from Coming On The Wind)
This song touches me deeply, secondary to the loss of someone last Thanksgiving.
The song stops me in my tracks, I can feel the words and the tears flow. We
always had an uncanny connection--I can hear him say your words. I feel his
mother needs to hear the song as well. Thank you for such a touching and
beautiful song.

* Just a quick email to let you know that
your CD arrived yesterday. I am enjoying it very much!
I heard the interview that you did
with Hope FM, Bournemouth, and loved hearing your songs, and
what you had to say.
- God Bless.

The
Best of
Russ Anderson
vol. 1
Release date:
2004 |
|
* I have purchased a lot of "greatest hits" or
"best of" various artists dating back to the
60s. But rarely do I find one like "The Best
of Russ Anderson" where every cut is so
good, so different from the others in the story
it tells or the emotion that it conveys that I
never "skip forward" to hear a favorite or two.
To me, that's the best test of a truly
remarkable CD.

* Great! Tom Petty
meets John Lennon. Fresh, uplifting, all around good sound!
I am totally impressed! This is a great CD, the music is
better than most of what you hear on today's radio stations.
It has that Tom Petty meets John Lennon sound, good words,
good guitar, good everything! Nancee's Garden is my favorite
song, it is up, catchy, and makes you wonder just what IS
growing in her garden! To Russ, great job, this is truly
great. To You who haven't heard it, order it!!
- A local Fan, St. Louis, MO
* note from Russ. "The Garden Nancee Grows" is NOT a drug
song. It can just sound that way.:-) It's actually very
innocent.
* This is Russ' best work yet, there are only more good things to come
This CD is Russ's best work yet. The thoughts in his words
really touch me
- Steve Loomstein, O'Fallon, MO
* I just love it.
I just love it. It is your best album yet. I especially like
"Meant to Be", "Hold On", and "All the Time in the World"
and of course "Amazing Grace".

Milo's Garden
Release date: Summer,
1998 |
When most of us
run across a great CD like Milo's Garden, we find ourselves
infatuated with the music.
In most cases, though, we quickly wear it out and eventually lose it in
our vast collection. NOT THIS ONE! I keep it handy. After
several months of listening pleasure, I still enjoy regular
interludes 'in' Milo's Garden. It's fun to nonchalantly slip
this CD into the changer at parties or when friends are
visiting, just to hear their initial response; "Who is
this?", "Hey! This is good!" or "What a voice? And, I love
the lyrics!" and, it almost never fails, "Where did you get
the CD?" From a musician's perspective, I genuinely
appreciate the efforts of other artists and have somewhat of
an ear for good music. I play with an acoustic music group
in St. Louis known as LIVING PROOF. The three of us were so
impressed with this CD, we decided to cover one of Russ's
tunes. "The Window" always gets a great response....even
when we play it!!! If you never get the chance to see him
perform, you're missing out on a great opportunity, but
don't cheat yourself out of some excellent music! Get the
CD! I'd tip my hat to Russ Anderson for Milo's Garden....if
I wore one!

My wife and I are new fans.
We saw you performing at Show Me's last year several times, and bought
your "Milo's Garden" CD, (listen to it all of the time, it is definitely one of
my favorite CDs).
- Ken and Robyn, St.Louis, MO
This CD is fantastic!
The warmth and depth in the lyrics of the songs are truly inspiring.
Not very often does an artist come out that changes the way we think about art
and music, but Russ Anderson has definitely done it with this new CD. It is
amazing how well it has been produced. His harmonic content combined with his
lyrical subject matter leave the listener deeply touched. This CD is worth
buying. Buy it now!
- Jim Callahan, singer / songwriter/ musician / producer, Jupiter Studios, St.
Louis, MO
In a world filled with grunge rock, gangster rap, inaudible lyrics, and
instrument abuse which passes for music, Milo's Garden is a fresh relief.
Whether it's the harmonica filled "And the Rain Came Falling Down", the thought
provoking "Not Guilty", and "Remember Tiananmen", or the melancholy "Hard To Say
Goodbye", and "Milo's Garden", Russ has the capability to reach your emotions
through his music. I would highly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys pure
guitar and harmonica music filled with poetic lyrics! Thanks, Russ. I'll be
waiting for the next release!
-Kevin D., St. Louis, MO
I recently purchased Russ Anderson's CD from the
internet and haven't been able to stop listening to it since. What a great
sound!
Myself, being a recording artist with a publishing company I get a lot
of material for review and collaboration and it is not every day that someone so
diverse and multi-talented comes along. From, Russ' crisp vocals, well-thought
lyrics, memorable melodies and lush harmonies, Russ is definitely a life
embracing spirit with something to say! Further, anyone who has ever held a pet
close to their heart can't help but be touched by his title track "Milo's
Garden" and the 12th track "Hard To Say Goodbye." Thank God for the Internet or
I may never have been touched by Russ Anderson's work. Thanks Russ for sharing
your spirit!!
- Pamelody, Singer/Songwriter, Chantilly, VA
Russ, I really like your CD Milo's Garden.
My favorite song on the CD is "And the Rain Came Falling Down". I have
listened to that over and over! I also love the fact that the lyrics are
included. Keep up the good work!
